Rebecca was born and raised in Texas. She’s worked as a gas station clerk, zookeeper, city forester, construction worker and litigation claims consultant.
She has run from a hurricane in her RV (lifestyles of the trailer fabulous), partially scaled down a cliff wall with no climbing equipment or other safety apparatus (a tragically foolish act that ended when one of her fellow climbers slipped and fell all the way down the cliff resulting in serious injuries), driven down slippery mountain roads during an ice storm (it was either that or spend the night in a thin tin trailer on top of the mountain during the raging and frigid ice storm - neither choice was optimal), scuba dived with sharks (hey, nurse sharks are still sharks), and moved six times in less than a year while simultaneously attending law school and liberating herself from a dangerous relationship (she looks back now and has no idea how she got through that year except that God made a way, somehow).
She’s given her whole heart to Jesus because she knows He loves her no matter what and does not count her flaws, faults or failings against her. How can she not love the One who loves her even when He knows everything - EVERYTHING - about her and when He gave up everything He had to rescue her and be with her?
After adventuring out of Texas and living in Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Kansas and Missouri, she has settled in Southern California where she lives with her best friend, favorite decorator and the love of her life, Jesus. She is passionate about seeing people set free from their fears (like perfection, performance, people-pleasing, guilt, shame and anxiety) and leading people to connect to their emotions and their own unique creative voices. Her debut book, ‘Onions: peeling back the layers – poetry in the process of recovering from trauma,’ is a collection of poems accompanied by a discussion of the inspiration, meaning and style infused into each poem.
