February Photo Journal

For this post, I want to share with you my joy and wonder at the Lord’s creation. I’ve curated some photos from my daily walks and added notes of what’s on my mind and in my heart as I delight in these photos again.

Where do you find it the easiest to connect with the Lord, seeing His face and hearing His voice?

Seeding Peace Clouds - shifting my gaze upward to acknowledge the beauty of my Creator that is evident in His creation, in every second of time. These clouds took my breath away and compelled me to stop and soak in the beauty of the Artist.

Resting in a Magnolia - perched above at a safe distance, this little one sits and watches the world and me pass by. He reminds me to be aware of the life all around me, to observe and acknowledge the wonder of creation and to enjoy where I am. This encourages me to slow down a little more in life so that I can take in more peace and joy.

Autumnal Blessings - I love the vibrancy of this moment - the leaves and the sky are in brilliant contrast. They speak of the beauty that exists when two opposites are brought beside one another so that they can reveal something greater in the other than is possible on its own. People do that for one another, also. They shine a light on features and attributes that might otherwise go unnoticed or be less impactful.

A quiet beach, somewhere in SoCal, lulls me into a calm that allows for a freshening perspective and playful experimentation. The icy waves cool the wind that briskly kisses my face and swirls my hair around. I am in awe of the crushing peace of the unrelenting waters of grace that created this unfathomable, untamable ocean.

Infinite Artwork - Every second of every sunset is a new and captivating painting that the Lord creates. And He does this every single day, everywhere. He is always doing a new thing - even with something as simple as a sunset. Every day I get to watch Him paint something new, with every second, in every aspect of creation. It’s moments like this when I am struck by how limitless He is - His creativity, attention to detail, subtle nuances, orchestrating intricate compositions constantly and fluidly moving and shifting elements to reveal some new view of His love. I am awed into silence almost before I begin to describe His incomprehensibility and infinitude. I cease trying to understand and simply allow His presence to permeate my soul and quiet me with His love.
